JAMAICAN ME CRAZY JERK SPICE BLEND
Yield: about 1⁄3 cup
When you want to escape to a Caribbean Island, just put on some reggae and use this jerk spice blend. Its pungent flavor will remind you of white sand and turquoise water even in the dead of winter. While the flavors will transport you to the islands, we all know, for the full experience, you are going to have to book that much-needed vacation. This blend pairs nicely with chicken, pork, and seafood.
2 teaspoons ground allspice
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoons onion powder
Mix together all the ingredients in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place away from heat and light.
